The Hyppo

On the east end of Hypolita Street, near the bay front, you will find a shop selling hand-made frozen treats called paletas.  They are created with care and great combinations of  local, seasonal fruits and herbs, as well as the famous St. Augustine datil pepper.

These frozen treats are the creation of owner Steven DiMare who sources 25 to 30 percent of his ingredient from local farms.  Even the sweetener, an evaporated cane juice, is sourced as close as possible - in south Florida.  The persimmons used for the popular  Persimmon and Black Pepper pop are grown by a family member while the cucumbers, watermelons, and cantaloupes arrive from our Hastings area farms.

There is something healthy and refreshing to be found at The Hyppo. How about trying Vanana Banilla, Blackberry Clove, Honey Honeydew or Champaign Mango?  Also, look for a new storefront when warm weather arrives - on Rt. 312 at 1765 Tree Blvd, Unit #5 and at the kiosk in the St. Johns Town Center, Jacksonville too.
