Restaurants and Cafes
The Floridian
The Floridian restaurant offers locals and visitors alike a seasonal menu that has a full selection of farm fresh ingredients every day. They serve dishes that reflect the cuisine of our regional southern heritage with a bit of a new twist. The list of menu items changes according to what is growing in the fields and swimming in our local waterways.
Chefs and owners Genie Kepner, Jeff McNally, and Patricia McLemore believe they can best support their community by purchasing ingredients locally and do their part to promote the sustainability and growth of our region’s agriculture by using what’s in-season. This all goes to insure that they provide truly local “ farm- to- table “ food in every sense of the word.
You will see that “Not Your Mama’s Meatloaf” is made with locally raised Cartwheel Ranch beef and the ketchup accompaniment contains local datil peppers. The vegetarian selections are extensive and many are vegan. Their farms and artisans are listed on the blackboard in the dining room and on the menus. Dave’s bread, Wainwright Dairy, S&J Farms, and The Seafood Shoppe are just a few.
A trip to the Oldest City wouldn’t be complete without lunch or dinner at the Floridian. Enjoy this new innovative southern fare for omnivores, herbivores, and locavores. The home-style desserts are not to be missed!
