Currie's Market
South of the old city of St Augustine you'll find Patrick and Alison Currie's market. The market is located in a small handicapped accessible building on the southbound side of Route 1. It can be easy to miss because it is tucked in the trees and set back from the highway. Patrick comes from a family that has farmed on the First Coast for over a century. He is very proud of his well established farm partnerships and knows all of his growing partners personally.
The Currie’s produce offerings come largely from Florida and Georgia following the seasonal calendar. No gassed or waxed produce here. The selection is fresh and in season and from local farms in St. Johns and Putnam County as well as the farms in South and Central Florida. Patrick does his best to label his produce with both the location and farm of origin. When it comes to apples, the Currie’s reach further north to Hendersonville, North Carolina to bring us a great selection. A favored local specialty is the honey from Mr. Waldo who is on the St. Johns River.
And yes, St. Augustine's very famous datil peppers are available in season at Patrick Currie’s market.
