Ava Ferguson and Nakoa Cooley are providing folks with fresh vegetables through their CSA memberships and also at the Saturday Fernandina Beach Farmers Market. They use the principals of organic farming and employing cover crops and bio mass to enrich the soil. Natural methods of pest control are employed. In addition to their vegetables, they have a flock of chickens, four goats, and hope to add beef cattle in the near future.
Ava has extensive farm and CSA experience and Nakoa was raised on a farm in southern Ohio. They said that they hope to carve out an honorable life by caring for the land and sharing good, local food to people in nearby Nassau County.
